Commercial Licensing
This page explains how commercial production rights work when you generate audio with Bulbul v3, Content Agents (Text to Speech, Dubbing, Voice Cloning), or the Text-to-Speech API. It covers credits, the Production License under our End User License Agreement (EULA), voice-cloning consent, and what happens if you stop using Sarvam later.
Summary: You may use exported audio in shipped, sold products — including games, apps, and commercial media — when generation runs on your account and credits are consumed, including from your ₹100 signup credit pool. No separate production tier or commercial registration step is required beyond normal credit usage and voice-cloning consent.
Production License and credits
Sarvam grants a Production License when you pay applicable fees for the Software and remain compliant with our EULA and Terms of Service. On the managed platform, credit consumption counts as payment for the generation that produced your Output.
That means:
- Signup credits count. Every new account receives ₹100 in free credits. These credits are not limited to evaluation-only or non-commercial use. Audio you generate while those credits are consumed carries the same production rights as audio generated from a paid top-up.
- Paid top-ups count the same way. Any credit purchase from the Billing page activates production rights for Output generated while those credits are used.
- There is no separate Production License SKU. You do not need a special plan name or add-on beyond having credits available and using the service in compliance with our terms.
The Production License applies to Output you generate while credits are consumed on your account. It does not grant rights to Sarvam’s models, voices, software, or trademarks themselves — only to the generated audio (and other Output) assigned to you under the EULA.
Minimum top-up or plan
No minimum purchase is required beyond normal credit usage.
- Use your ₹100 signup credits, or top up any amount from the dashboard when you need more.
- Plan tiers (Starter, Pro, Business) mainly affect rate limits and bonus credits — not whether you may ship commercial Output.
- Bulbul v3 is billed at ₹30 per 10,000 characters. Generate and export only what your project needs; each billed generation is licensed for production use.
If you need volume discounts, custom billing, or enterprise deployment options, see Talk to us.
Voice cloning for commercial use
Voice Cloning in Content Agents and cloned voices used through the Text-to-Speech API follow the same commercial rules as preset Sarvam voices, with one extra requirement: you must have the rights to clone the voice.
What you must do
- Complete consent in the dashboard. Before saving a clone, you must check the mandatory consent box confirming you have the rights to record, process, clone, and use that voice to generate new content. See Voice Cloning overview and Creating a Clone.
- Clone only voices you are authorized to use. Self-voiced, consent-based clones (for example, your own voice for an in-game character) are supported when you hold those rights.
- Generate final assets on your account. Export or download audio after generation runs on your org with credits consumed — the same as any other Bulbul v3 output.
What you do not need
- No separate commercial registration form for cloned voices
- No enterprise plan requirement for Content Agents voice cloning (enterprise-only cloning rules apply to Conversations / voice agents custom voices — see Voice & language settings)
You may not use Sarvam to impersonate individuals without consent, generate deepfakes, or violate applicable law — including voice personality and data-protection requirements. See the EULA License Restrictions.
Rights after you stop using Sarvam
Yes — you retain commercial rights to Output you have already exported, subject to the EULA.
Under our EULA:
- Sarvam assigns to you all rights, title, and interest in Output (generated responses, including audio files) that you receive from the Software.
- The Production License for Output generated while you paid applicable fees and complied with the Agreement is perpetual for that Output — you do not lose the right to use already-exported files in your shipped product if you later cancel, stop topping up, or close your account.
You remain responsible for how you use that Output (accuracy, consent, third-party rights, and applicable law).
