# Data validation & verification

> Data Validator and Data Verifier in Sarvam Voice Agents (alpha): built-in tools that check the format of collected values or verify them against stored records.

> Data Validator and Data Verifier are currently in **Alpha** and not yet generally available.

Two built-in tools check data the agent collects during a conversation:

* **Data Validator**: validates a value's format or validity locally, for example that a phone number, ID, or OTP is well-formed.
* **Data Verifier**: verifies a value against a stored reference, for example that an account number matches a record.
