# Best practices

A short checklist for launching campaigns safely and protecting your number health.

#### Validate cohorts before launch

Catch bad phone numbers and mismatched columns before they burn through your dial budget. See [Cohorts](/conversations/deploy/campaigns/cohorts).

#### Start small

Launch with a test cohort of 50–100 contacts and a low CPS. Review call quality and connect rates before adding the full list.

#### Pause → Edit → Resume

Never try to change a running campaign. [Pause it first](/conversations/deploy/campaigns/campaign-lifecycle), make changes, then resume.

#### Use groups for number rotation

Assign a [group](/conversations/deploy/telephony/groups) so the campaign cycles through numbers and protects number health.

#### Watch the first hour

Monitor [Connectivity](/conversations/monitor/agent-analytics/connectivity) right after launch. If connect rates drop sharply, pause and investigate.
