Only organisation Owners can invite. People are invited at the **organisation** level, and as part of the invite you choose which **workspaces** they get access to. So if different people should work on different things, put them in different workspaces rather than creating a new organisation for each team. > **Note** > > Only an organisation **Owner** can invite, edit, or remove members. If you are a Member the **Invite User** button is disabled, with the tooltip *"Only org owners can invite users"*. This is enforced by the API, not just hidden in the UI. ## Invite someone #### Open the members page Go to **Settings → Organisation → Members**. The table lists everyone in the organisation with their role, status, workspaces, and join date. #### Click Invite User The button is at the top right. #### Enter their email address Type the email in **Email ID**. Use the address they will sign in with. #### Choose their workspaces Pick a workspace from the dropdown. Click **Add another workspace** to grant access to more than one, up to **50 workspaces** in a single invite. #### Send the invite Click **Invite user**. They are added as a **Member** with **Editor** access to the workspaces you selected, and their status shows as **Pending** until they accept. > **Warning** > > The invite dialog does not offer a role choice, every invited person starts as an organisation **Member** with **Editor** access to the selected workspaces. If you need someone to be an Owner, or need a different workspace role, invite them first and then change it (see below). ## Member statuses | Status | Meaning | | ----------- | ---------------------------------------------- | | **Pending** | Invited but has not signed in and accepted yet | | **Active** | Accepted the invite and can use the account | ## Change someone's role or workspaces #### Find them on the Members page Use the search box at the top if the list is long. #### Open the row menu and click Edit user The menu is the `…` at the end of their row. Pending invitations show **Revoke invitation** instead. #### Set the organisation role **Organisation role** offers exactly two options: **Owner** and **Member**. Owners get full control of billing, members, and workspaces, and are Admin on every workspace automatically. #### Adjust workspace access Add or remove workspaces in the same dialog, then click **Save changes**. > **Note** > > An organisation must keep at least one Owner. The last Owner cannot be demoted or removed, the option is not offered. Workspace roles (**Admin**, **Editor**, **Viewer**) are managed per workspace under **Settings → Workspace → Members**. ## Revoke a pending invitation Open the `…` menu on the pending row and click **Revoke invitation**. The invite link stops working. To invite the person again, send a fresh invite. ## Remove a member Open the `…` menu on an active row and click **Remove**. They lose access to the organisation and all of its workspaces immediately. > **Warning** > > Removing someone does not revoke API keys they created. Keys belong to the workspace, not to the person, and keep working after they leave. If they had access to a key you consider sensitive, rotate it under **API Keys**. ## Inviting a lot of people at once The invite dialog handles one person at a time. If you are onboarding a large group, [contact us](mailto:support@sarvam.ai), bulk invites can be done for you rather than one by one. ## Troubleshooting #### The Invite User button is greyed out You are an organisation **Member**, not an Owner. Ask an Owner to send the invite, or to promote you. You can confirm your own role under **Settings → Organisation → General**, in the **Role** field. #### They never received the invite email Check the Members page first, if their row says **Pending**, the invite exists and the problem is delivery. Ask them to check spam, and confirm the address on the row is correct. If it is wrong, revoke the invitation and send a new one to the right address. #### They accepted but cannot see anything They are in the organisation but have no workspace access, or access to a workspace with nothing in it. Edit the user and confirm the **Workspaces** list matches what they should see. #### They cannot create API keys API key creation needs sufficient access to the workspace. Check their workspace role under **Settings → Workspace → Members**: a **Viewer** is read-only. > How to invite users to your Sarvam organisation, grant workspace access, change someone's role, revoke a pending invitation, and remove a member.
